Foot and Ankle Surgery Department of Xuzhou Renci Hospital is a relatively large foot and ankle department in and outside the province. At present, there are 120 beds available in the two wards. The department has carried out long-term communication and cooperation with some well-known top-level hospitals in China, such as Quan Doctor Group, Shanghai Tongji Hospital, Xi 'an Red Chamber Hospital and so on. Meanwhile, the department regularly invites some domestic and foreign foot and ankle experts to come to the hospital for consultation and guidance, sends backbone personnel to further study, and continuously improves the level of specialist diagnosis and research.

The doctors from Foot and Ankle Department  not only master microsurgical techniques for skin flap wound repair, but also take advantage of Ilizarov orthopedic techniques for limb correction and bone lengthening, focusing on the treatment of congenital and acquired deformities, pain caused by ankle and foot joint trauma or unknown causes. Besides, the department has carried out a series of treatments, including tarsal eversion, foot and ankle fractures and joint injuries, treatment of vascular nerve tendon injuries, ligament injuries, ankle dislocation, foot and ankle wound repair and foot functional reconstruction, as well as ankle arthroscopic minimally invasive treatment, etc.

Every year, the department will hold high-quality academic conferences on ankles and feet and promote advanced experience and technology to the field and actively improve the development of ankle surgery in Huaihai Economic Zone. Now, Foot and Ankle Surgery Department of Renci Hospital has developed into a regional foot and ankle surgery diagnosis and treatment center integrating outpatient service, surgery, nursing, orthopedic brace, rehabilitation and personnel training.

Professor Yu Guangrong, chief physician, professor and doctoral supervisor of Orthopaedic Department of Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University and chairman of SICOT China Foot and Ankle Surgery Association, is a specially appointed expert of Renci Hospital, who regularly visits the department every month for seeing patients, guiding surgery and providing academic and scientific research guidance.

Shi Rongjian, Chief Physician and Head of Foot and Ankle Surgery Department, is the Vice President of Xuzhou Renci Hospital, Deputy Chairman of Jiangsu Medical Association Microsurgery Branch, Member of Plastic Burn Branch, Deputy Chairman of Xuzhou Medical Association Orthopedics Branch, Head of Hand Surgery Branch, Deputy Head of Foot and Ankle Surgery Branch, Chairman of Repair and Reconstruction Surgery Committee of Xuzhou Rehabilitation Medical Association, International Member of International Orthopaedic World Congress (SICOT), and is the Discipline Leader of the Municipal Key Clinical Discipline (Hand Surgery). Meanwhile, Shi has undertaken basic disciplines, including clinical research on free iliac flap transplantation for treatment of traumatic nonunion of limbs, etc. Besides, Shi has owned abundent academic research results and also been profoundly experienced in clinical diagnosis.
